      With private owners you can often negotiate rent, whereas it can be difficult to do that with agencies.

      Deposits

      Typically, renters have to pay 2/3 months of rent as a deposit. By law, it is required to be put in a different account than the landlords. They can ask for a co-signer; although; usually, they can only ask for one of a deposit/co-signer.
